On August 11, APRI Armenia hosted a press conference to explore the short-term and longer-term benefits of the TRIPP when it comes to regional stability and national prosperity. Building on active engagement with experts from the US and regional concerned powers and APRI Armenia’s analysis, our fellows Melkonian Sergei and Benyamin Poghosyan shared their insights on:
- How the TRIPP’s geopolitical implications, including the interests and concerns of regional powers, could shape its implementation and Armenia’s ability to secure reciprocal economic and strategic benefits
- The main differences between the TRIPP, as set out in the legal documents and explained by US and Armenian officials, and the “Zangezur Corridor,” a term Azerbaijani officials continue to use
- The way forward to strengthen the progress made so far on advancing stability and prosperity
- Why a broader focus on border opening, in addition to making progress on the TRIPP, will be a more effective tool to establish regional peace and prosperity
