The Applied Policy Research Institute of Armenia (APRI Armenia) is an independent think tank and policy accelerator focused on advancing regional stability, sustainable prosperity, and civic engagement.
We are a hub of trusted dialogue, independent analysis, and authoritative ideas. Our goal is to address critical policy issues and unlock Armenia’s potential with a solution-oriented mindset.
We provide policy recommendations and suggest constructive solutions to the relevant stakeholders to help develop solutions that can unlock tremendous potential and positive outcomes for the development of the Armenian nation.

The launch of APRI Armenia in 2022 was prompted by a dire need for deep insight, dynamic policy dialogue, and a clear understanding of Armenia’s geopolitical and domestic context. The organization also sought to create a space for working on critical policy issues in a constructive and collaborative professional atmosphere.
APRI Armenia was formed following an extensive 18-month design process that included pilot projects, feedback from key stakeholders, and guidance from a network of advisors worldwide.
APRI Armenia was founded by the Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU), a global philanthropic organization for over a century.
APRI Armenia’s outputs are designed to have a concrete impact. The substance and delivery mechanisms are developed in close consultation with the public, private, and civil society partners based in Armenia or abroad, who will be our end users and beneficiaries of our efforts.
APRI Armenia channels its impact through three different conduits
- Strategic Convening: Create individual connections, or a network of ideas and people, with breakthrough potential for Armenia.
- Targeted Policy Research: Our analysis is policy targeted: it goes beyond the elegant analysis of a complex situation, with a drive toward formulating actionable concrete policy recommendations, cognisant of the various target audiences it seeks to be heard from.
- Authoritative Communications: Our communications strategy is dual (national and international), mirroring our stakeholder engagement model in identifying the target audiences.
