Our Mission and Values
APRI Armenia’s mission is to shift Armenia’s trajectory toward a more stable, sustainable, and democratic future.
Our organizational values:
Collegiality and collaboration: Knowledge and connections are shared, not kept to oneself. We operate in a culture of openness and meritocracy.
Respect for diversity (cognitive and geographical): We value and respect people who are not like-minded, even within our organization; we value and respect the expertise and skill set colleagues can bring.
Constructive and solution-oriented: We go beyond the elegant articulation of a problem and seek to bring concrete recommendations to solve issues, however big or small. We have a learning culture, in which we listen to and welcome—not disregard or disparage—feedback from colleagues or relevant stakeholders.
Independent and nonpartisan: We engage with policy influencers and stakeholders in a civic and constructive spirit, regardless of their political standing; we work with the government, not for the government. We maintain strict intellectual independence in all of our projects and publications. Donors agree that it is our prerogative to maintain independent control of the selection, content, and conclusions of our initiatives.
Operational excellence: We have an on-time culture in our activities—we are respectful of people’s time and expect the same from others; we pride ourselves on our forward-planning and project-management competencies. We will meet the best-in-class standards of think tank transparency.
