Armenak oversees APRI Armenia’s editorial process of policy publications and ensures the highest standards of accuracy, relevance, and impact. He is also a nonresident fellow at the Carnegie Middle East Center in Beirut. 

His research at Carnegie, where he has worked since 2019, sits at the intersection of peace, conflict, and Syrian affairs, spanning policy and academic analysis. Before joining Carnegie, he worked at the International Crisis Group as a Syria Fellow. Since 2019, he has also worked as a consulting editor. His academic background is in Peace and Conflict Studies, which is also the focus of his PhD at Tampere University in Finland.
