Timely Panel Discussion on EU–Armenia Relations Co-organized by APRI Armenia

APRI Armenia was honored to co-organize an event on European Union–Armenia relations in partnership with Ghent University’s Eureast Platform, with the support of the Embassy of Belgium in Armenia. The event brought together key figures, experts, and stakeholders to discuss Armenia’s evolving geopolitical positioning and its relations with the EU.

The panel discussion was held before a diverse audience of alumni from Ghent University, civil society representatives, Young European Ambassadors in Armenia, Armenian students and their EU law professors, government officials, and diplomats. The two sessions investigated Armenia’s geopolitical positioning and EU–Armenia relations, including human rights promotion and the implementation of the bilateral Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement. The challenges and opportunities facing Armenia on its potential path toward EU accession were also discussed.

Anahide Pilibossian, Vice President, Strategy and Development, APRI Armenia, spoke on the first panel alongside H.E. Eric De Muynck, Belgium’s Ambassador to Armenia, and H.E. Vassilis Maragos, Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia. The session was moderated by Fabienne Bossuyt, Associate Professor and Co-Coordinator of the Ghent Institute for International and European Studies. She shared valuable insights into Armenia’s geopolitical balancing act and discussed areas where bilateral relations between Armenia and the EU could be further strengthened.
