Panel Discussion at Budapest Global Dialogue: Anahide Pilibossian Explores the Future of EU Foreign Policy

At the Budapest Global Dialogue, organized by the Hungarian Institute of International Affairs and the Observer Research Foundation, a key panel discussion entitled “Reclaiming Europe: Scripting Values, Interests, and Propositions for the 21st Century” discussed the challenges the European Union faces. The event brought together leading thinkers and policy-makers to explore whether the EU should prioritize a values-based or interests-based foreign policy.

Among the panelists was APRI Armenia’s Anahide Pilibossian, who shared her insights on the fundamental frictions in the European project.

In her remarks, Anahide called for the European Union to enhance its strategic vision and posed the critical question of whether the 27 EU member states have the political will and can achieve the necessary consensus to act together effectively in the face of rising global competition.
