May 18–19, 2025 — A delegation from APRI Armenia took part in the 2025 Tehran Dialogue Forum, an international conference organized by the Institute for Political and International Studies (IPIS) of Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Forum brought together senior officials, diplomats, and experts from across the globe to discuss pressing geopolitical and economic developments.
The event was officially opened by Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and featured addresses by Dr. Abbas Araghchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Dr. Saeed Khatibzadeh, Deputy Foreign Minister and Director of IPIS. Discussions spanned a wide range of topics including regional cooperation, connectivity corridors, and the evolving global order.
Representing APRI Armenia, David Akopyan, member of the Board of Trustees, spoke on the panel “From Subcontinent to Eurasia: Corridors, Geo-Economics, and Unlocking Potentials.” He emphasized the strategic importance of connectivity and inclusive cooperation across Eurasia, and the need for balanced development frameworks that consider the interests of all regional actors.
Sergei Melkonian, Research Fellow, contributed to the panel “Eurasia Cooperation in Focus Amid Uncertainties,” where he highlighted the challenges and opportunities for regional integration in the context of shifting geopolitical alignments and economic uncertainty.
