Armenia-Azerbaijan peace deal undercuts Russia, elevates Trump, U.S. in Central Asia

In a comment for The Washington Times, APRI Armenia’s Senior Research Fellow Benyamin Poghosyan referred to the Washington Summit between Armenia and Azerbaijan, emphasizing that the deal reduces the risk of military escalation and creates space for Armenia to focus on rebuilding its economy. However, he also warned that the lack of clarity over transit routes and security guarantees for Armenian citizens and goods represents a risk.
