Research Fellow

APRI Armenia is looking for a Research Fellow to join its dynamic team. The role will involve policy analysis (quantitative and qualitative), strategic convening curation, project management, and writing outputs for the duration of a one-year contract, renewable, with opportunities for travel, networking, and professional development. 

About the role:

Working closely with the executive team and colleagues across the organization, the Research Fellow will be primarily responsible for co-planning, managing, and delivering APRI Armenia’s US–Armenia track and high-tech diplomacy tracks for 2026, with ample opportunities for personal growth and professional development. 

The Research Fellow will work under the supervision of the Vice President of Strategy and Development. 

Responsibilities 

  1. Stakeholder engagement
  • Design a plan to engage with the relevant stakeholders working toward advancing US–Armenia relations—to include policy stakeholders as well as business stakeholders, with a particular focus on the high-tech sector.
  1. Strategic convening 
  • Curate events and meetings in Armenia and the US, bringing together speakers and participants for discussions with high policy impact 
  • Lead and support the delivery of events relevant to the US–Armenia track and high-tech diplomacy track from design to execution
  1. Capacity-Building
  • Leverage curated strategic discussions to unlock opportunities to strengthen US–Armenia relations
  • Transform strategically convened discussions into written outputs to be communicated to relevant stakeholders
  1. Miscellaneous
  • Other think tank activities related to APRI Armenia’s research agenda and/or requested by the executive may arise.

Requirements:

  • Strong expertise in US–Armenia policy dynamics
  • Established networks within Armenian and DC stakeholders (public institutions, high-tech sector and think tanks)
  • Proven ability to produce high-quality, policy-relevant research and briefs
  • Proven project management skills in the fields of policy research and events
  • Outstanding written and spoken Armenian and English
  • Good interpersonal skills, a collaborative nature, and a solution-oriented mindset
  • Strong connections in the IT sector are an advantage 
  • Public speaking experience is an advantage
  • The successful candidate will not hold any political affiliation in Armenia or elsewhere
  • No other commitments impacting the full-time role

Compensation:

Compensation will be commensurate with experience and skills.

Duration of contract:

The successful candidate will be hired for 12 months under a service contract, renewable under the law of the Republic of Armenia.
