APRI Armenia is seeking a Senior Diaspora Fundraising Manager—preferably based in the United States—for a full-time role focused on expanding the organization’s donor base within the Armenian Diaspora and leading the fundraising process overall. The ideal candidate will have the flexibility to travel frequently, primarily within the US and occasionally to Europe. This role will report to APRI Armenia’s Vice President of Operations, and work closely with the Fundraising Manager and Fundraising Committee as a Secretary to strengthen and grow the organization’s fundraising efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of APRI Armenia’s overall fundraising strategy and goals together with the Executive Team, Fundraising Committee and Fundraising Manager.
- Develop and implement targeted fundraising strategies tailored to Diaspora engagement, aligned with overall fundraising strategy and goals.
- Deliver on fundraising targets set out in the fundraising strategies, together with the Fundraising Manager.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with current Diaspora donors, working closely with the team and Fundraising Committee to deepen engagement.
- Research and identify prospective donors—individuals, foundations, and institutions within the Diaspora — and design tailored outreach strategies.
- Leverage existing donors, allies, and Fundraising Committee networks to identify and engage new prospects.
- Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and pitches to current and prospective donors.
- Lead meetings with potential donors to assess interests and build customized engagement plans.
- Draft effective donor communications, including introductions, concept notes, proposals, applications, and reports tailored to Diaspora-based donors.
- Ensure timely collection of pledged and committed funds.
Expected Experience and Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in fundraising, development, or donor relations, ideally in a nonprofit or think tank.
- Proven track record in major gifts fundraising, annual giving, and building relationships with high-net-worth individuals, foundations, and institutional donors.
- Experience with donor cultivation and stewardship cycles, from identification and engagement to solicitation and retention.
- Familiarity and past experience with Armenian Diaspora communities, foundations, and international funders, particularly those with an interest in Armenia’s foreign policy and security.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling donor materials and correspondence.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with senior leadership, board members, and external partners.
- Highly organized and self-directed, with excellent project management and follow-through.
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach and a collaborative mindset.
